Vortex Flow Measurement Maintenance Routine

Installation of Vortex Flow Measurement

The installation piping of vortex flow measurement should avoid the influence of high temperature heat source and radiation source, and the installation place should have heat insulation and ventilation measures to avoid strong corrosive environment. In order to eliminate electrical interference, the site wiring and high-voltage lines, power lines and power equipment to maintain a sufficient distance.

Vortex Flow Measurement Common Problems and Processing Methods

Vortex flow measurement is a maintenance-free instrument, which can be operated stably and reliably for a long time. Problems in the actual application, mostly in the installation of unreasonable, signal interference, etc., common failure phenomena and processing as follows:

  1. Phenomenon: no flow in the pipeline, the flow rate display is not 0.

Solution:

1, check whether the grounding is good. 2, check whether the gain is too high. 3, check whether the pipe vibration is serious, if necessary, in the vicinity of the flowmeter perpendicular to the pipeline and the vortex generator axis of direction of the pipe support.

  1. Phenomenon: There is flow in the pipeline, but the display is 0.

Solution:

  1. First, make sure that the flow value is below the lower limit or near the lower limit. 2. Check whether the flow sensor/temperature sensor/pressure sensor connection is good. 3. Raise the gain to observe. 4. Observe whether the temperature and pressure are displaying normally. 5. Check the flow/temperature/pressure sensor circuit according to the sensor detection method.

 

Phenomenon: The flow rate display is unstable.

Solution:

  1. First confirm whether the flow rate itself is unstable, adjust the time constant appropriately. 2. Check whether the flow rate is near the lower limit. 3. Check whether the pipeline vibration is serious, if necessary, add the support.

 

Phenomenon: current output is not correct.

Solution:

1, first of all, confirm the secondary meter range and the maximum flow rate is the same, to determine whether the current output is normal is also based on this. 2, test the current output circuit (into the engineer’s menu). 3, check whether the current loop load resistance is less than the maximum load resistance value of 600 ohms.
