Ultrasonic level gauges, also known as ultrasonic level meter, ultrasonic water level meter, ultrasonic material level gauge, is an excellent non-contact interface measurement equipment. Can be used to measure the liquid level and flow size in various containers or pipelines, can also be used for pools, canals, reservoirs, rivers, lakes and seas water level measurement, high measurement accuracy, easy installation and maintenance, can simultaneously measure the water level, water level difference and flow rate, etc., and has a computer standard RS-485 interface and other features.
Analysis of common problems in the measurement of ultrasonic level gauges
- Measurement inaccuracy caused by fluctuation of power supply voltage
For single probe measurement device, the same measurement probe does both transmitter and receiver, then in the transmission of ultrasonic waves, when the probe is added with a higher excitation voltage, it will increase the distance of the blind zone, so that the measurement of the range of changes, it may be beyond the range of measurement: when the voltage on the probe is too low, due to the measurement distance is far, it may not receive the return signal, so it could work properly, now it can not work properly or produce measurement errors. Range:When the voltage on the probe is too low, due to the measurement distance is far away, it may not receive the return signal, so it could have worked normally, but now it can not work properly, or produce measurement errors, then you need to adjust the power supply voltage to the rated value, so that the probe works normally.
- The selected measurement range is not suitable
Due to the existence of the blind distance and ultrasonic waves in the propagation process will produce attenuation, so the use of ultrasonic measurement of liquid level has a certain range of measurement, not unlimited, so you should choose the appropriate probe and mode of operation.
- Measurement faults caused by the propagation medium
In the measurement, the propagation medium contains large droplet particles, when the ultrasonic wave encounters these droplets, it will be scattered and reflected, and these droplets will also absorb the ultrasonic wave, resulting in ultrasonic attenuation, which will result in measurement errors, false measurements, or the measurement probe can not work. When these droplets attached to the surface of the measuring probe, the harm is even greater, on the one hand, will make the measuring probe can not work, on the other hand, too long droplets may corrode the surface of the probe, so that the measuring probe can never be used, so it should be timely through the ventilation and wiping, and add filtration devices, and the measuring probe with a protective cover. When the droplet particles are small and not attached to the surface of the probe, it can also be solved by using a high-power probe or double probe measurement.
- Failure caused by the measurement of liquid level
When the measured liquid level is accompanied by other impurities or the liquid level is very uneven, the ultrasonic wave encounters diffuse reflection or beam reflection to other directions, and the ultrasonic wave back to the measurement probe is very little, beyond the measurement probe sensitivity range, so that the measurement probe can not be measured by the beam, can not be reflected, and can not work properly, this should be placed below the measurement probe, such as the wire around the well, and other ways.
- Failure caused by the installation method
ultrasonic level gauges are blind, as the human eye, the blind spot is when the object is very close to the eye, but can not see clearly, this distance is called the blind spot. The blind zone of ultrasonic level gauges is different according to the different ranges. The range is small, the blind spot is small, the range is large, the blind spot is large. But generally between 30cm-50cm. So generally in the installation of ultrasonic level gauges when the blind zone must be taken into account.
