Vortex Gas Flow Meter

Vortex flow meter is an instrument that can measure the flow of various fluids (such as liquids, gases, steam), can measure saturated steam and superheated steam, the highest measuring temperature up to 400°C, very wide range of uses. According to the process connection, it can be divided into wafer type, clamp type and flange type.

Vortex Gas Flow Meter is a commonly used structural form. Its meter body does not have a connecting flange. When connected to the pipeline, the flow meter is clamped between two special flanges and then fastened with bolts. This method is relatively simple and does not require too many changes to the pipeline.

Vortex Gas Flow Meter Measurement Principle

The clamp-on vortex gas flow meter is based on the vortex principle for measurement. During the flow of fluid, when the flow rate exceeds a certain value, vortices will form in the pipeline perpendicular to the flow direction of the fluid. These vortices alternately fall off on the downstream pipe wall to form a vortex. By measuring the frequency of the vortex, the flow rate of the fluid can be calculated.

Structural Features

The clamp-on vortex gas flow meter is mainly composed of a sensor and a transmitter. The sensor is responsible for detecting the vortex signal and converting it into an electrical signal; the transmitter amplifies, filters and digitizes the electrical signal and outputs a signal proportional to the flow rate.

Application scope and scenarios

The clamp-on vortex gas flow meter is suitable for measuring the flow of gas, liquid and steam. Due to its simple structure, high measurement accuracy and good stability, it is widely used in pipeline flow measurement in industries such as petroleum, chemical industry and electric power.
