Steam Flow Meter

Vortex flow meter is an instrument that can measure the flow of various fluids (such as liquids, gases, steam), can measure saturated steam and superheated steam, the highest measuring temperature up to 400°C, very wide range of uses. According to the process connection, it can be divided into wafer type, clamp type and flange type.

The steam flow meter installs one or more non-streamlined bluff bodies in the fluid. The fluid alternately separates and releases two series of regular vortices on both sides of the bluff body, this vortex is called Karman vortex street. Within a certain flow range, the vortex separation frequency is proportional to the average flow velocity in the pipeline. The vortex frequency can be measured by various forms of detection elements to infer the flow rate of the fluid. The steam flow meters can be used to measure, detect and control the flow of various single-phase, uniform liquids, gases, high/low temperature superheated steam and saturated steam.

Features of Steam Flow Meter:

  • ‌Small pressure loss: The pressure loss of the steam flow meter is relatively low, and it will not cause excessive energy consumption to the pipeline system.
  • Large range: The flow meter can adapt to a wide range of flow rates and can accurately measure from low flow to high flow.
  • High accuracy: The steam flow meter can achieve a high measurement accuracy, generally within ±1%, especially at medium and high flow rates.
  • Long-term stability: Due to its simple structure and no moving parts, it has high stability and low maintenance cost during long-term use.
  • Wide operating temperature range: The steam flow meter can work within the operating temperature range of -20°C to +250°C, adapting to a variety of working environments.
  • Diverse output signals: The steam flow meter can provide analog standard signals and digital pulse signal outputs, which is convenient for use with digital systems such as computers.
